From June 7 to 9, 2023, a regional workshop for the development of the Gender Action Plan (GAP) in organizations was held in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan. The workshop was organized by the International Organization for Standardization ISO, together with the Uzbek Agency for Technical Regulation under the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, O'ZTTSA. More than 30 representatives of developing countries, members of ISO, participated in the workshop.
The purpose of the workshop was to enable ISO members to achieve specific goals related to gender equality through the development and implementation of the national GAP. The topics and questions discussed at the workshop were aimed at:
- gaining knowledge that workshop participants can independently establish, implement and measure GAP in order to build long-term national capacity,
- deepening the understanding of gender issues and the connection with standardization,
- ensuring that policies, programs and activities include a gender perspective and
- promoting consideration of gender issues at all levels within the institution.
The workshop was attended by two ISS representatives, members of the GAP working group, Snežana Lilić and Biljana Stepanović.
