ISS at the Women´s Innovative Entrepreneurship Fair

Women´s Innovative Entrepreneurship Fair was organized as a two days event, on 11 and 12 September 2021, sponsored by the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Innovation and Technological Development. The organization of the citizens “Lokalna samoorganizacija” and the City of Belgrade organized this event, and the basic idea is to increase and improve economic opportunities for women entrepreneurs in Serbia through entrepreneurial training and development.

This fair, intended for women innovative entrepreneurs, was held within the Belgrade Waterfront complex, on the plateau behind the Geozavod building. About 70 applications were received for the participation. Selected exhibitors, representatives of small enterprises owned by women had at their disposal an exhibition space to promote their ideas, products and services. Participation for exhibitors and visitors was free, but due to the current epidemiological situation, the number of participants was limited.

By participating in the first day of the fair, ISS, together with the Intellectual Property Office, provided support to the development and promotion of women's innovative entrepreneurship at the national and local level. Through the presentation of the business activities, membership in the Institute and the services provided by the Institute, women entrepreneurs are introduced to national standardization and opportunities for business improvement through the implementation of standards. On that occasion, the upcoming webinar “Standards and Innovations” was announced, which is organized by ISS in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, as well as celebration of the World Standards Day and the Day of the Institute for Standardization of Serbia.
