Last week's two-day public relations round table in Vienna brought together around 40 representatives of European standardization organizations, including the Institute for Standardization of Serbia, a full member. The meeting resulted in an agreement to enhance cooperation in 2024. To address the growing demand for improved communication methods, future quarterly online meetings will be held.
This year holds special significance for ISS as it hosted the CEN-CENELEC General Assembly. The four-day event, a first for the organization, garnered praise from over 200 participants. Despite being an internal event of CEN-CENELEC, ISS could not participate in the nominations for the standards awards, which were presented in three categories. Out of 22 nominations, the awards for PR campaigns were presented to DIN (German Institute for Standardization) and HZN (Croatian Standards Institute). In the field of social networks, Israel and Slovenia emerged as winners, while Spain and the Netherlands received awards for event organization.
As a representative for public relations and marketing at the Institute for Standardization of Serbia, Aleksandra Bogdanović actively participated in determining and considering market requirements and in all other segments of the conference. The conference has a long-term goal of paving the way for the promotion of standards and familiarization of the wider public with the role of standards in the progress of society as a whole.
This round table is particularly important for the Institute because next year ISS marks a significant anniversary - 90 years of standardization in Serbia. It is certainly an event in which communication methods will play an extremely important role.
