The new Law on Safety and Health at Work, published in the "Official Gazette of RS" No. 35/2023 entered into force on 7 May of this year. It regulates the rights, obligations and responsibilities of employers and employees in order to enable a higher level of safety at work, as well as a greater application of protection measures.
In order to enable all those interested to better understand the changes compared to the previous version of the Law, ISS held an informative webinar on this topic last week, for more than 100 participants. At the webinar, Mrs. Vera Trefalt, an experienced occupational health and safety expert, spoke about the most important novelties contained in the Law. Mirjana Mirković-Đorđević, M.Sc., secretary of the ISS NTC CASCO, which adopts Serbian standards in the field of OSH, introduced the participants to the points and guidelines of the SRPS ISO 45001 standard, which is referred to in the OSH Law.
This webinar was also an announcement of the upcoming seminar, which will be held at the Institute on 23 June, 2023. The seminar will explain the obligations and responsibilities of employers, the obligations and rights of employees, as well as persons who are self-employed or work from home. In addition, the function of the associate (consultant) for OSH and the responsibilities of inspectors will be explained, as well as records and reporting, as well as medical examinations of employees. Special attention will be focused on works at construction sites and on the explanation of new terminology. Also, key terms and definitions in SRPS ISO 45001, as well as its structure, will be explained.
The announced seminar will be organized at a promotional price, and the details are given on the following link: https://iss.rs/sr_Cyrl/training/course/show/112.
