Product category rules for life cycle assessment of electrical and electronic products and systems – Guidance for application in Europe

Scope

IEC 63366 defines product category rules (PCR) for electrical and electronic products and systems (EEPS) to develop (Type III) environmental declarations for electrical and electronic products and systems (EEPS). It specifies the process and requirements on how to conduct life cycle assessment (LCA) in the context of environmental declarations.
This NWIP targets to develop an regional annex as a common modification of the IEC standard to ensure applicability on the EU market, by further defining certain aspects of the rule set for the region EU, such as e.g. the grid mix and scenarios for the life cycle stages. Further, the regional assessment approach should take the EN 15804 and the EU Environmental footprint method into account.
