Corruption/bribery is a problem present in most countries, both developed and underdeveloped. It threatens stability and prosperity, violates democratic principles and the rule of law. That is why it is important to take measures to prevent bribery and corruption at all levels, from individuals to the state.
A significant reduction of corruption and bribery in all its forms is foreseen in the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, within sub-goal 16.5.
The Institute for Standardization of Serbia adopted the Serbian standard SRPS ISO 37001:2017, Anti-bribery management systems — Requirements with guidance for use (https://iss.rs/sr_Cyrl/project/show/iss:proj:60021), which is identical to international standard of the same name. This document is published as a bilingual edition, in Serbian and English, and has 100 pages. It was adopted by the NTC KS A268, Sustainability and social responsibility (https://iss.rs/sr_Cyrl/committee/show/9238).
The International Organization for Standardization ISO has published both a practical guide to implementing a management system in accordance with ISO 37001 https://www.iso.org/publication/PUB100457.html and a publicly available publication that provides an overview of this standard and how it can positively impact business.
