The strategic role of standards in traffic signaling and road equipment

Last week's professional-educational meeting "Day of Modern Technology" organized by the ISS  long-term associate, company "Signal" doo Sombor, gathered more than 200 experts in the field of traffic signaling and road equipment. Good practice and experience in the work of "Signal" doo Sombor, together with its partners 3M, Swarco and Nissen, shared with the participants, presenting modern technologies for the production and installation of traffic signals with a special emphasis on the traffic safety system.

On behalf of the Institute, Jelena Krtenić, Chairperson of ISS NTC Z226, Road equipment spoke about the strategic role of standards in solving current and future challenges. On this occasion, the legal framework and the role of the pure national standards, which for the most part support legislation in this area, were presented. The importance of participation in the work of the ISS NTC Z226 was also highlighted, which is one of the largest ISS NTCs with 21 interested parties, and whose task is to, through the exchange of knowledge and experience of members, maintain, improve and adopt standards for traffic signaling and road equipment.

Traffic signals and road equipment are important for the safety of all, and ISS NTC Z226 contributes to this with its work on standards.
