In accordance with Article 11 Paragraph 2 of the Statute of the Institute for Standardization of Serbia, ISS provides funds for work from the income generated by the collection of membership fees. Since they are one of the sources of funding for ISS, membership fees are a regular contribution of members to the general development of ISS and the strengthening of national standardization. Their amount is determined by a special decision of the ISS Managing Board (Article 25 of the Statute).

The Statute, the decision on the amount of membership fees for each calendar year and the Rulebook on membership in the Institute for Standardization of Serbia ( regulate all issues related to membership. Membership in the Institute is voluntary, and any legal or natural person, as well as a natural person registered as an entrepreneur can become a member of ISS. The condition for companies and other legal entities and entrepreneurs is that they were established in accordance with the regulations of the Republic of Serbia, while the condition for individuals who want to become members of the Institute is to have the citizenship of the Republic of Serbia.

The membership fee for companies and other legal entities that make a profit is determined based on the number of employees, the membership fee for non-profit legal entities is determined based on the type of activity, while the same amount is determined for all entrepreneurial members and all individual membership fees.

All members of the Institute admitted to membership after1  July of the current year pay half the amount of the annual membership fee (item 2.2 of the Decision on the membership fee at the Institute for Standardization of Serbia for 2022) (
