World Standards Day 2021

Each year on 14 October, the International organizations for standardization ISO, IEC and ITU and their members celebrate World Standards Day, which is a means of paying tribute to the collaborative efforts of thousands of experts worldwide who are working on the development of the International standards.

World Standards Day 2021 theme is “Shared vision for a better world – Standards for SDGs”. The choice of this theme emphasized the importance of the seventeen sustainable development goals until 2030, which were defined by the UN, and which came into force in January 2016. Achieving them requires the cooperation of many public and private partners, as well as the use of all available tools, including International standards and conformity assessment.

Institute for Standardization of Serbia as the full member of the International Organizations for Standardization, also celebrates World Standards Day. This international standardization holiday is traditionally celebrated every year in our country as the part of the celebration of the Day of the Institute for Standardization of Serbia. This year, the ceremony was organized on 30 September at the ISS premises, in the presence of the winners of the annual awards for special contribution to the development of national standardization.
