At the International Wine Fair "Wine Vision Open Balkans" held at the Belgrade Fair from September 1 to 4, 2022, in the organization of the countries of the Open Balkan initiative (OB), about 360 exhibitors are present, i.e. wine producers from more than 20 countries all over the world.
In the last ten years, Serbia has made significant progress in wine production and has shown that it can make good wines. Today, there are 430 registered producers in Serbia. However, for survival in this market, the quality of the wine is of crucial importance, which must be constant every year. Therefore, standardization plays an important role in reflecting the quality of wine from year to year. In order to maintain the quality of wine, major producers have introduced some key standards in the production process. Among others, management system standards are also used:
SRPS EN ISO 22000:2018 – Food safety management systems - Requirements for any organization in the food chain, and
SRPS ISO 9001:2015 – Quality management systems - Requirement
Apart from the mentioned standards, wine producers also use SRPS EN 706 – Agricultural machinery - Vine shoot tipping machines – Safety, and International standards ISO 5703:1979 — Equipment for vine cultivation and wine making — Grape presses — Methods of test, ISO 5704:1980 – Equipment for vine cultivation and wine making — Grape-harvesting machinery — Test methods, ISO 7224: 1983 – Equipment for vine cultivation and wine making — Mash pumps — Methods of test and other standards. All these standards can be obtained from the Institute for Standardization of Serbia.
