Institut za standardizaciju Srbije, kao nacionalno telo za standardizaciju Republike Srbije, obezbeđuje Republici Srbiji, zainteresovanim stranama, članovima Instituta i celokupnoj javnosti srpske standarde usaglašene sa međunarodnim i evropskim standardima i mogućnost da ravnopravno učestvuju u međunarodnoj i evropskoj standardizaciji donoseći nacionalne standarde poštujući međunarodno i evropski priznate principe standardizacije.
