Apstrakt

This document specifies a method for determining the proof strength, plastic extension (Rp0,2), of magnesium and magnesium alloys by the incremental loading-unloading loop method in uniaxial tensile testing at room temperature. It is applicable to cast and wrought magnesium alloys that exhibit significant anelastic behaviour, for which the 0,2 % offset method of ISO 6892-1 does not give reproducible results.
