Letter symbol: K. Quotient of dEtr by dm, where dEtr is the sum of the initial kinetic energies of all the charged ionizing particles liberated by uncharged ionizing particles in air of mass dm. The unit of AIR KERMA is Gy (where 1 Gy = 1 J . kg-1), (see C.6 of ICRU 33).
